Vehicles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police mentioned they were alerted by a man who discovered a car in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Around fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.

Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Police then discovered numerous other smeared cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state early analysis show the fluid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; officials are presently not aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have asked to the residents for details.

A senior representative said the vandalism made him speechless and had to be resolved quickly.

"This event hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
